Blood of the Dead Now Up for Pre-order!

While you're waiting for the new Axiom-man story (due in August; it's called The Dead Land), coming out in July is my shoot 'em up zombie novel, Blood of the Dead, which has just become available for pre-order through Horror-Mall.

Click here to pre-order at Horror-Mall.

"Blood of the Dead isn't what you think it is. Sure--it starts out as a zombie jamboree that drags you through Hell on Earth, but then it goes further ... a lot further ... and takes you straight to Hell and back again. This is the stuff of nightmares, boys and girls, with some unnerving and frightening action scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat and haunt your dreams." - Rick Hautala, author of The Wildman and Occasional Demons

The story:

One year ago, the world came to an end.

First came the rain.

Then came the screams.

Then came the undead.

Night after night, Joe Bailey prowls the streets, eliminating the undead, each kill one step closer to reclaiming a life once stolen from him.

For a long time, the Haven was the only place in the city where the undead population was minimal. A place of community. A place to be safe.

Things have changed.

The zombies are emptying out of downtown and are making their way north to the Haven, seeking out the remaining survivors of the human race.

Joe, now busier than ever, ends up saving the lives of two young people: Billie Friday and Des Nottingham.

With the Haven filling up with the dead, the three need to go to the one place where folks fear to tread: the heart of the city.

After meeting an old man with a peculiar past, Joe and the others must make one last stand against the undead or become zombies themselves.

A desperate escape leads them to a place thought impossible to exist and to a discovery that will shake the future.

Welcome to the end of all things.

Axiom-man Episode No. 1 is Complete!

Yup. You read that right. After a few hours and 5,964 words, I closed the book on the 31k-or-so of the Axiom-man superhero/zombie novella, Episode No. 1: The Dead Land.

Gonna set it aside to cool down for a month before I edit it. Am now also able to finish up Axiom-man: Blood, a short story I started last summer (I think).

Ah, feels good.

Gonna have me a glass of wine to celebrate.

Yet Even More Free Comics!

Have you read Rizzo by Sean Simmans and Chris Riseley? Seriously read it?

This stuff is utterly hilarious. No joke.

Well, okay, there are jokes, one on every page, one part of every strip.

And you can read them free at Wowio.com

Rizzo: Year One

The second edition of the cult classic.

Rizzo: Year One has been revised, with a new introduction by the creator and brand-new artwork, representing Rizzo's first "year" of adventure and political intrigue. A rollercoaster ride of hilarity.

Rizzo: Utah Dreams in Mild Color

Utah has a great big salty lake (and a city named after it), canyons, caverns, a spiral jetty, and it also has RIZZO. Join in the Latter-Day merry-making as the Beehive State's most cynical optimist takes a closer look at his surroundings and finds a gold-plated oddity under every stone. Kind of funny, even if you aren't from Utah.

Go on. Do it. It's too funny to pass up.

More Free Comics!

Though not Axiom-man comics, they're still cool comics nonetheless put out by Coscom Entertainment.

And the best part is--they're Free! (More cool stuff from WOWIO.com)

The Wraith #0

The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld, sallies forth in his very first adventure. The Wraith 00 acts as an introductory tale, setting the scene, to allow readers to delve into who these characters are and the kind of world they live in, readying them for the beginning of the storyline-proper in The Wraith #1.

Learn the background of Paul Sanderson aka The Wraith, his life and experiences, see his associates in action, and witness how Michael Reeve and Leena Patterson fit into all this. Drama and action at its best!

Burnt Soul

It started with a letter pinned to a lifeless body in the rundown Dublin suburb of Ballyrunner. It promised more victims and more bloodshed. It declared that those responsible for a heinous crime would be hunted down and would finally face justice. And the writer vowed that he would not stop until the job was done.

The letter did not lie.

Sergeant Sean McGrath faces the onerous task of bringing the city's first serial killer to justice. At first glance, the task appears to be simple.

But life is never that simple.

Leads are followed, searches conducted and arrests made, and all the while the bodies keep piling up as Burnt Soul works his way through the criminal fraternity of Ballyrunner, killing without mercy, compassion or feeling.

The gangsters become jumpy, the drug dealers edgy, everyone holds their breath to see who is next. McGrath must lead the chase to find and capture the monster before he claims more lives, perhaps even those who don't deserve justice.

And as McGrath does so, the final words from that letter ring in his ears:

"I am WRATH. And THEY WILL FEAR ME."

The Snowmen

The macabre and bizarre adventure of twin albino Bounty Hunters, Hadley and Bradley Moon, who stalk the shadowy, mean streets of the city in search of a fiend with a dark heart and a darker soul: Quint the Headhunter, who holds the entire city in his deadly and dangerous grip. The Moons must find the killer before he strikes again, or before the authorities capture them, for the police suspect the albino brothers of the horrendous crimes. The events are very reminiscent of the past, especially for the scarred and tortured Hadley Moon, who could not save the only woman he loved from the hands of the headhunter. And the present grants him the opportunity to atone for his sins and save an innocent girl from the clutches of an insane monster. As the shadows grow ever darker and even more dangerous, and the headhunter stalks and strikes in the night, the showdown leads to a desolate battleground and one last chance to end the evil that has once more entered their lives. As the world cowers in fear...our only hope lies in the fact that: THE MOONS ARE OUT!
